AWStats 6.4 - Log-Analyzer AWStats 6.4von Simon Pamies (spamsch) - zuletzt geƤndert: 2005-07-29 20:20:50 |
| Motivation:
Why not using Webalizer? For me the AWStats output is much nicer to present for my customers. Also the localizations are great and well done. You can also analze mail logs. But AWstats is much more complicated to get up and running than Webalizer or others. With this package I want to help all those who absolutely want AWstats but are despaired by the configuration. Especially the process of analyzing multiple domains is fairly complicated. Installation: + Unpack into /opt/lampp (not /opt!) Directories and Files: awstats :: Contains the main awstats tools |- docs :: Documentation |- tools :: Useful tools |- lampp-update-all.sh :: General update script |- createnewstats.sh :: Helper for creating new stat |- wwwroot :: Main script in cgi-bin/awstats.pl htdocs |- awstats :: Contains the general overview generator var/awstats* :: Place for generated documentation Configuration: Ok - thats the complicated part. I tried to provide reusable config files and file locations. Lets go through them step by step: 1) Go to etc/awstats-apache.conf and put in your IP and main host from where to server stats (YOURIP, YOURDOMAIN). The subdomain for this general overview is globalstats. 2) Edit etc/awstats-hosts.conf. There you should put all your domains that should have stats of their own. As a default subdomain I have choosen stats. 4) Run awstats/tools/createnewstats.sh and create conf for the first domain. Newly created confs are put into etc/awstats-hosts. Control the newly generated file. 5) Run awstats/tools/lampp-update-all.sh 6) Make sure that all etc/awstats*.conf are included in the httpd.conf. 7) Edit awstats/wwwroot/cgi-bin/.htaccess to match your configuration. It is a good idea to create a group that can access awstats.pl and restricting access to each log in the configuration (that's what creatnewstats is doing by asking you for username and password) 8) Reload apache (lampp reloadapache) and go straight to your globalstats subdomain (see #1). There you should see an overview of all configuration files - pretty nice eh? ;-) Now click on the Show Statistics link for one domain - should be a nice output. 9) Under var/awstats-static you can find static versions of your logs. But static versions have no month or year selector! pretty dumb... Enjoy! Please send feedback to the author even if you got it up and running! |
